WHY HUM

Engaging every scholar. Elevating every outcome.

At HUM, learning goes beyond the classroom. Our scholars dive into the curriculum, turning big questions into meaningful research, creating work that demonstrates their learning, and presenting and defending their ideas with confidence. Our CARE values — Community Engagement, Accountability & Good Citizenship, and Respect & Empathy — shape how we learn, lead, and grow together.

YES HUM CAN: Through our graduation plan, scholars explore what's possible beyond high school through college visits, career experiences, and internships throughout the year. Our Summer Bridge program, held in late August, gives new scholars a head start before the year begins.

MESSAGE TO FAMILIES

"Our goal is graduation, and what comes after."

At HUM, our work is guided by CARE: Community Engagement, Accountability & Good Citizenship, and Respect & Empathy. It shapes how we learn, connect, and grow together. Families are our partners in that work. We rely on your voice and your involvement, and we'll keep creating spaces where every scholar's voice matters and compassion is a daily practice. We keep school focused on learning. Every scholar has their own Chromebook to extend learning beyond the classroom, and the school day is free of personal devices, so scholars can concentrate and connect face to face.
